Object: dokou, dati, dato, diyolo
πΉ Part B: Rules & Placement Tips
Subject pronouns (yoho, iya, yau) come
after the verb in natural sentences (VSO), but before
the verb in formal usage (SVO).
Examples:
Yoho nopo nga ih John β I am John
Iya nopo nga tanak ku β You are my daughter
Possessive pronouns (ku, nu, dau) always follow the noun.
Examples:
manuk ku (my chicken)
baju nu (your shirt)
Object forms (doho, diya) act as the recipient or target of the action.
Examples:
Minomogusa ko doho konihab β You chased me yesterday
Tahakon ku diya β I will give you
Verb-helper pronouns (oku, ko, yau) are used after the verb to show who is doing the action.
Examples:
Mongoi oku sikul β I am going to school
Minomogusa ko doho konihab β You chased me yesterday
Maangkan yau do tuhau β He is eating tuhau
πΉ Part C: Common Mistakes to Avoid
β Donβt start sentences with ku, nu, or dau. These are possessive suffixes.
β Use yoho / oku instead. Ku mongoi β β Yoho mongoi / Mongoi oku β β
β Donβt use a subject pronoun as a receiver. Patahakon ku iya β β Patahakon ku diya β β
π§ Emphasizing Ownership: Starting with doho, diya, etc.
Itβs also common to start with doho (mine/me) or diya (yours/you) to emphasize ownership.
Doho do tanak β My son (emphasis on "mine")
Doho nopo doh pendapat om... β My opinion is that...
Diya moti doh surat ino β That letter is yours
π Practice Time

You are very angry
1. His cat is fat
Correct: Olombon tungau dau
2. You are very angry
Option 1 (subject focus): Iya otogod tomod
